BabyBjorn launched the Baby Carrier Miracle as another addition to its already incredible range of baby carriers that other brands can only wish to imitate.
The BabyBjorn carrier that I had been advised by friends to buy was the classic Baby Carrier Active, but when researching and speaking to a particularly well informed source, I was led to the newest product in the range, the Baby Carrier Miracle.
My question, having had no prior experience in any such product, was what the difference could possibly be to such a basic (or so my uneducated-in-anything-newborn mind thought!) carrying device. The answer was as follows:
Both baby carriers are designed to provide the perfect support for babies from when they are newborn up until they weigh 26.5 lbs/12 kg ,around 15 months of age. Both also provide excellent back support to make carrying more comfortable for the parent (adult).
To make carrying as ergonomically sound as possible, even when carrying a heavier child for longer periods of time, Baby Carrier Miracle has an entirely new and unique design, with a support belt and several new ways of varying the pressure points on the person carrying baby. Good ergonomics entails alternating positions. With Baby Carrier Miracle, it’s entirely up to you whether to carry more weight on your hips, shoulders or back – or a little of each. With easy adjustments, you can actually redistribute the weight while carrying your child.
So then I knew…and then I bought the super chic Miracle knowing it would provide the perfect support (and appearance!) for both me and my newborn.
Having been away without internet connection (I didn’t think there was anywhere in the world that wouldn’t have internet connection!) I am happy to be back in London and back to MaternallyChic – how I have missed this place!
With backdated images and reviews to add from last week, this particular dress was worn to a gala event last Thursday and I must say I have never felt so Old Hollywood, just divine! The dress itself is my usual size FR36, but accommodated my very pregnant form with grace and ease – I may be feeling a little uncomfortable and certainly carrying rather a lot of water (which I have been assured will leave me within days of birth, thank goodness!) but YSL settled all concerns with this elegant masterpiece…

There appears to be something of a pattern forming…long, vibrant dresses (with a particular penchant for yellow it seems!)
I love everything I wear, otherwise I wouldn’t wear it, but there is something about this incredible Vionnet dress that made me feel the most like myself I have in quite some months…the cut, the colour, the fabric, this piece is utterly flawless in every way.
I bought this dress in just one size larger than I would usually wear (most other pieces I have bought have needed to be a few sizes larger and added to the ‘tailoring when no longer pregnant’ list) so will be perfectly fine to wear post-pregnancy without alterations.

I first heard about Tata Harper from an editor friend of mine at US Vogue, she switched from her usual products whilst she was pregnant and swore by this 100% organic range, so I thought I should add one or two products to my daily routine…
I love the concept and story behind the brand – Tata Harper is based in Vermont on a 12oo acre farm, where all research and development, formulations, packaging, marketing and distribution are done in-house, allowing Tata to control every step of the process, from formulation to shipment to a customer.
The product range has every step you need for a totally organic, luxurious and lovingly developed daily experience.
The wonderful team at Cocosa recently invited me to their London HQ to guest edit their latest children’s fashions, the adorable results are now live on the site WWW.COCOSA.COM
With the most recent limited sale including ranges from Jessie & James (creations from two ex-Vivienne Westwood designers), Mini Vanilla and Cate & Levi, I found myself buying far too many pieces for my soon-to-arrive baby (along with a few pieces from the adult range for myself of course!)
Another amazing edit from the luxury sale site…and I would just like to add that there are some incredible Rodial products in their beauty section (yes, I bought a few of those also!)
Continuing my love affair with bold bright colours (which, as you now know, would never have happened pre-pregnancy), this Chalayan cherry red dress fits my pregnant form perfectly due to the cut and allows for movement due to the stretch fabric…divine! Teamed with a signature leather jacket from Helmut Lang and unbelievably comfortable Gianvito Rossi heels (yes, really) I am certainly set for my attendance at a summer cocktail party (albeit a rather brief appearance I suspect, the late stages of pregnancy do not allow for late night revelling…)

I first discovered Dr. Perricone’s miracle potions when I lived in New York a few years ago (oh the memories), I was introduced by a beauty editor friend of mine who refused to use any other product on her skin (although told the readers of her magazine column otherwise!) and I can see why.
I am someone who likes to change my beauty regime after a few months and am far too inquisitive when it comes to trying new products, but what I will say is that I have returned to Dr. Perricone on a number of occasions over the years and am about to indulge in my newest discovery, his Private Reserve Serum.
This incredible product was previously reserved for only his most exclusive clients, but is now available without an appointment, thank goodness (the product and a flight to his NY office may have proven to be just a little much…)
The product information is as follows, along with the words from Dr. Perricone…
- Combination of five gold standard neuropeptides helps to improve texture, tone, firmness, radiance, smoothness, lines and wrinkles
- Richly hydrates and is highly absorbent
- Instantaneous results – skin appears firmer after one application
“This limited edition Neuropeptide Serum is my personal formula, which until now has only been available to some of the most famous faces in the world. Private Reserve delivers extraordinary benefits and instantly gorgeous, radiant skin. And like the finest vintage wines, it ensures your skin continues to improve with time” – Nicholas V. Perricone MD
A worthwhile indulgence for those wishing to see true results!
Not wishing to abandon my favoured fragrances due to extreme loyalty, my chosen pre-pregnancy scents proved just too strong for my delicate pregnant senses during the past months and have been temporarily packed away.
Being a firm believer in not leaving the house without a signature scent, an alternative was sought out and without question this Bonpoint perfume was the perfect replacement; fresh, light, unique and au naturel.
A blissful choice for any expectant mother – and certainly also for those not expecting!
An early appearance at an industry event this evening as my lovely constant companion is not allowing for much sleep right now, so I shall need to have slipped into something far more comfortable by 9pm. For now though, the colour of this divine Roksanda Ilincic creation is making me feel far perkier than I should be on such limited sleep – nothing brightens the spirit more than a striking yellow dress it seems!

I have been asked by many of you just which bag I shall be using for a baby bag…Obviously I wouldn’t wish to use a bag that was gorgeous although impractical, as finding alternatives to maternity wear whilst pregnant is of course my main concept, but making life difficult is certainly not part of the plan.
I researched and tested many brands, from Louis Vuitton and Goyard totes to larger weekend bags from several designers, but with size, weight and easy access to consider, the clear favourite was the Longchamp Le Pliage in a beautiful, sturdy leather.
Longchamp Le Pliage bags are a wonderful addition to travel at any time (I have long used one for excess shopping purchases that simply will not fit in my case – a Le Pliage nylon bag sits in one of my case compartments at all times!) but I did need something of a more substantial fabric for carrying all of my baby needs and this leather version proved to be the most perfect answer…
