For those who are past the breastfeeding stage and have experienced the dreaded pigmentation that so often occurs during pregnancy, I have found a revolutionary product that excels in lightening, without causing damage to the skin.
Natura Bisse has long been a favourite brand of mine and I have previously gushed about their incredible products on MaternallyChic, but the innovative creations that have been released in 2012 far exceeded my expectations (and mine are particularly high!)
The Diamond White Intensive Lightening Corrective Treatment is a must for those with the unfortunate aforementioned pigmentation – I for one have discoloration on my cheeks from my pregnancy and could not be more thankful that I discovered this amazing serum.
The genius in this particular product is that it not only remedies pigmentation issues, but it also contains ingredients that support skin renewal and prevent hyperpigmentation from reoccurring – a perfect product for renewing skin to its glorious best and ensuring it stays that way.
I thought there was nothing new I could discover about fashion and beauty in London. My job as the fashion editor of Harper’s Bazaar ensures I hear about the most exclusive new stores, exhibitions and spas. To my great surprise, I recently discovered a labyrinth of hidden rooms nestled behind doors within the Liberty London department store – who knew?! (Well, many exceptionally happy clients knew it seems…!)
Upon discovering that Dermalogica, a brand I have trusted for many years to brighten my skin with its exceptional products, had a spa behind those aforementioned doors, I of course booked in immediately for a luxurious 60 minute Dermalogica Skin Treatment. Having read the below description, I was sold…
“Our flagship skin treatment directs everything in Dermalogica’s arsenal towards your best skin. Totally customised to your skin’s needs. It’s one treatment that’s different every time! Each treatment includes professional double cleansing, exfoliation, high frequency or Galvanic modalities, extractions (as needed), masque, toner and skin protection.”
Never one to gush unnecessarily about any treatment I receive (I would much rather keep it short and sweet if I were not entirely thrilled), such was the difference in my skin, I could gush all day about the effects of this very treatment. I would never ordinarily dream of visiting such a fashion haven without at least a little highlighter and mascara, but I gladly departed the spa without even a subtle hint of make-up. I felt so radiant that I glowed with confidence (yes, yes, this is now very gushy, but I mean every word…)
A treatment that I could not recommend highly enough.
When searching for divine, original gifts that have a personal touch, the Monogrammed Linen Shop is certainly a place I would highly recommend for such finds.
With an extensive range of gifts, from adorable personalized pyjamas, elegant towels, beautiful blankets and the featured bath robe, the products are not only exquisitely made with unrivaled attention to detail, but the care, packaging and delivery time make the entire experience an absolute pleasure.
I am very much looking forward to Astor, my beautiful baby boy, snuggling up post bath in this chic, sumptuous towelling robe!
The Monogrammed Linen shop not only has beautiful children’s gifts, but makes the most luxurious adult bedroom, travel and dining products, along with a comprehensive wedding and christening list service.
Imagining the climate is actually warmer than it is in order to wear the summer options I bought for my late stages of pregnancy, I am debuting this absolutely divine Yves Saint Laurent dress for a day of press meetings ahead of London Fashion Week.
Unsure whether I will be making an appearance at any of the London shows due to being rather enormous (or indeed being in labour!) but I would like to think I will be able to attend one or two events…

With Selfridges being one of my favourite shopping destinations in the world (few stores match their unique offerings and wealth of choice across all departments), I have long been a loyal customer, but with new priorities on the horizon, I now need to know that wherever I am heading will also cater for the tiny person that is soon to enter this world.
News reached me last week that Selfridges had recently launched their new, spectacular children’s department – renewed, revamped and restocked. With designers such a Gucci, Ralph Lauren and Bonpoint for the most exquisite children’s clothing, along with 120 brands of toys, this truly is a one-stop children’s shopping heaven.
The new Clothing and Toys department is perfect for those time-pressed parents who want the finest that children’s designers have to offer, without having to spend an entire afternoon shop-hopping on Bond Street (that should surely be reserved for when it’s time to pamper themselves!)

There comes a point in any pregnancy where heels are just no longer an option – deflated as I was to admit this, at 8 months pregnant, all day in heels was proving impossible (and somewhat painful!)
I knew I had to find a shoe that was in keeping with my signature style, would compliment my looks in as close a way as possible as my extensive range of heels would and would also allow for wear in the evening when attending fashion industry events (if I had to sacrifice heels, I was not prepared to sacrifice the fabulous events that are part of my job as a fashion editor, so had to find the most exquisite flats imaginable!)
The flats that had no competition when it came to a chic appearance, unrivaled comfort (these Choo’s have a discreet rubber sole) and complimented both day and evening looks were the Jimmy Choo ‘Wheel’s’, available in a range of ponyskin prints, suede and metallic designs…needless to say I bought numerous pairs to see me through not only my pregnant months, but those following…

With the final countdown approaching and water retention not being overly kind to me in these final weeks, I am not feeling entirely myself (to say the least!), but I have not woken to find my ankles resembling hoofs, so I really should be thankful!
Needing to feel comfortable, while remaining true to my signature style, is certainly proving to be a challenge at this late stage, but Donna Karan could well be my saviour at this point!
This dress has a divine cut that falls in all the right places, meaning I not only feel like myself, but I cannot feel the uncomfortable ‘pull’ that other dresses are causing due to (understandably) not being designed with the pregnant form in mind.
Donna Karan, I salute you for clearly designing your collection with a women’s body in mind – a women’s body at any size and in any shape.

When considering which products to use on my baby’s skin, the Organic Pharmacy came highly recommended and knowing I would only use the purest organic ranges, this one seemed the perfect choice to buy all I would need in one place…
My baby is certainly an extremely healthy size and finding chic day options is getting somewhat trickier now; a long evening dress would be my outfit of choice, but for lunch with friends this may be just a touch extravagant…
My pre-pregnancy Stella McCartney leggings still fit due to the elasticated waist and are proving to be something of a saviour – they are a more heavyweight fabric than standard leggings, so I certainly feel a little more put together in this version. Teamed with the bold print top and cropped Balmain jacket, this is a perfect afternoon option…

Looking for a chic, sumptuous baby blanket was actually not as straightforward as I had anticipated… There are the obvious cashmere blankets by various design houses, but for the moment, I wanted something less obvious, although equally chic and with a certain high level of design and detail.
Bonnie Baby was recommended to me by a fellow editor at Harper’s Bazaar and I am certainly glad it was. The adorable clothing and just-enough-detail accessories made this the perfect label to find my newborn’s everyday blanket.
I could not be more happy with the divine blanket I chose, with its subtle design details (I am not one for frills, flowers and other such additions), ideal blend of cashmere/cotton and creamy tone, it will allow for every day use, while remaining a beautiful addition to my baby’s everyday wardrobe.
With Bonnie Baby stocked in only the finest department stores worldwide (Selfridges, Barneys New York, to name but a few) and having recently opened its first stand alone store in Hong Kong, you can be sure that this is a children’s brand to watch…
