As my friends are rather into them, choosing the right cocktails for my wedding day is without doubt going to be an extremely considered affair. Kettle One, Hendricks or Patron Silver, getting the finer details right is certainly going to be something I will need to spend time working on with the mixoligists I choose.
The cocktail creator I do know I would love to have at my wedding is the brilliant mind behind THE HERBALL, a company that was serving exceptional cocktails, disguised as incredibly healthy drinks, at a recent Jimmy Choo press day.
Mixed by botanists with herbs, plants, infusions and bitters, the bite of booze was barely noticeable in the delicious and extremely handsome looking cocktails; something hugely appealing to me as over-powering alcohol concoctions are not my thing at all.
A particularly striking added touch was a large green ‘energy’ crystal that was placed in the centre of the traditional shaped martini glasses; I am quite unsure if I was any more energized than before drinking my nutritious cocktail (is that an oxymoron?), but it certainly looked very nice.
…then you could consider this divine Dolce & Gabbana creation, made from the finest lace imaginable.
I wore this dress to a number of events last night, including the Claridges Dolce & Gabbana Christmas Tree event and the fun and fabulous Sunday Times Style party at Annabel’s (the festive season is certainly upon us!) and felt entirely bridal all evening – which of course was a very good thing.
Diets are a no-go for me, I have never believed in a ‘diet’, only in eating healthily, but there are times when a little help is needed to reduce bloating, freshen the skin and feel extremely cleansed from within.
Having thoroughly researched just which cleanse was not going to leave brides-to-be exhausted, cranky and craving sugar by 8pm each evening, it was clear that Plenish Cleanse would be the one to recommend for a full body detox.
With 6 large (500ml) juices to drink throughout the day – including one very filling ‘cashew milk’ concoction – there is little opportunity to feel unfulfilled, which I have heard can happen with some other juices cleanses.
With Plenish, it takes a few days into the cleanse until you feel brighter, lighter and a whole lot closer the self you envisaged in your wedding dress, but the results are undeniable and from personal experience, I loved these particular juices and shall certainly be placing an order in March before my own wedding day.
The past month has been a whirlwind of travel, work and keeping up with an ever-active growing toddler, so Astor’s new clothing needs have had to be kept simple. I of course wanted to ensure my little love wore well made and adorable designs, so it was a one-stop online purchasing afternoon at littlefashiongallery.com for their own collection. Sweatshirts, denim shirts (a personal favourite), tops, trousers, socks and shirts were bought in under twenty minutes, arrived a couple of days later and saved me an enormous headache in shopping hours!
Last week I attended the Spring Summer 2014 press day for French Sole, which was also one stage of a celebration to commemorate Jane Winkworth’s 25th year since launching her eponymous label
Meeting Jane herself (above) was a delight; you could not wish to meet a more straightforward, witty and clever lady. I adored my time chatting with her about all things wedding and French Sole
French Sole have the most perfect selection of shoes for a bride wishing to wear beautiful flats for her wedding day, or indeed for her bridesmaids and guests
Delicate pastel shades along with gold and silver lazer cut leather options make up a larger than expected bridal collection (but knowing French Sole, I should have expected such extensive and varied tones and finishes)
And I couldn’t possibly have left without accepting just a few of the delicious French Sole macaroons…
There’s a lot to be said for familiarity, so the question of whether your fragrance should be your ‘something new’ is a tricky one to answer; will your soon to be husband find it slightly odd that you would not smell as he knows you to, or would it be a fresh new you that he greets on the day, ready to start a new life as husband and wife?
In my case there is not an enormous level of mystery as I find a signature fragrance and wear it for years, it’s how I like things to be, to have a scent I am known for.
Recently and perhaps in good time for my wedding next March, I discovered a scent that I fell head-over-heels in love with, such was the unique scent and handsome packaging.
Bella Bellissima is an exclusive fragrance stocked in Selfridges, in fact it’s their highest selling fragrance, but when introducing the brand to my friends, they were very surprised not to have heard of it. What I will (somewhat unfortunately) say is that now four great girlfriends have bought one of the exceptional fragrances, so my exclusive is no longer quite so exclusive, ahem.
My personal passion from the Bella Bellissima fragrance collection is Essence of Oud, thankfully my fiance (and all around me) have fallen in love with it too…
Now that winter is here and my wardrobe has changed from bright tones to black black black, I wanted to find a chic new baby bag to match my attire. I have my beautiful Storksak ‘Sofia’ for summer in a delicious stone colour and knowing (and loving) Storksak, I revisited the collection to find my latest love, the ‘Aubrey’.
Perhaps more masculine than my Sofia bag (which is actually a great thing as my fiance will now gladly carry the bag also), it’s an elegant addition to my stroller and another exceptionally well made Storksak bag that I know will see me through baby number two when he or she comes along in the future.
