I SHALL MISS THIS…

t.1

Selecting wedding dresses to wear has been a thrill, a thrill I shall unquestionably miss once I am married next month!

I have been fortunate to spend time with fashion PR friends through all fittings, heading only to design houses and stores when I know the team through my job as a brand consultant and stylist

One month remains, so I feel at least a few more appointments can be made (regardless of the fact that I now have the most unbelievably divine Giambattista Valli couture creation waiting to be delivered from Paris…)

VEVIAN – THE ONLY CHOICE FOR ASTOR’S WEDDING DAY SHOES

Vevian

With Astor walking down the aisle with me on the 20th March and being a very big part of our day (obviously), I am considering his attire with as much detail as mine

I viewed many brands of shoes, but decided for this one special day I would have a beautiful pair of leather shoes handmade for my little love

With complete surprise I found that Vevian, a shoe brand I was familiar with and had heard so many wonderful things about from friends, was not as expensive as I would have imagined for bespoke shoes and that the quality far exceeded that of other very lovely shoes I had viewed previously

Astor’s shoes arrived this morning in the wooden box with beautiful floral interior that all of Vevian’s shoes are sent in. To say I am thrilled would be an understatement; the shoes are perfect in every way and are to the perfect specifications that I had discussed with the wonderful designer (and fellow mummy) of Vevian shoes

I have a feeling this will not be the only occasion that I select shoes from this exceptional designer…

FLAWLESS WEDDING DAY SKIN – COURTESY OF SISLEY

sisley3

There has never been any doubt in my mind that Sisley products have the ability to repair, enhance and dramatically improve the appearance of the skin

Having previously used Sisley when leading up to occasions where I would be under the spotlight, such as speaking at events, important birthday’s and certainly any photoshoots, I had no hesitation in revisiting this old friend to ensure flawless wedding day skin

There were a few products I knew I would need in particular; an eye cream, miracle night cream and a gentle but effective exfoliant

With late nights due to an increased workload, wedding prep and also answering all correspondence regarding the house we are buying (yes, in the same month as getting married!) a soothing, highly effective eye cream could not be more necessary and the answer to any potential problems came in the form of The Supreme Anti-Aging Eye Serum. The texture is somewhere between an eye cream and serum and just falls into the skin. My experience has been a week of religious use and I can see a softening of the skin around the eyes and a brighter tone without question

An exfoliant can never not be on my beauty shelves such is the need to regenerate the skin with the air in London (it’s not known for being the purest air of course…) My skin doesn’t respond to harsh scrubs, so the Creme Gommante (Sisley’s gentle facial buffing cream) gently treats my skin without pulling, damaging or causing redness – and I have yet to smell a cream with a more heavenly scent

As for the ultimate pre-wedding cream to repair and restore my skin at night? Sisley’s Global Anti-Age is the cream that I know will do everything I need it to do within a month (23 days to go as of today…) I started using the Global Anti-Age cream two weeks ago and the way in which my skin wakes is a sure sign that the science behind this product is as effective as you would expect. No longer tired, my skin wakes with a certain freshness and plumpness that has been lacking of late (again, late nights working on everything that is going on in my life right now is not working wonders for my skin!) The cream restores, regenerates and reduces ill-effects hormonal changes can cause to the skin, all areas that I currently need to address and am already clearly on my way to achieving the skin I so desire for my wedding day with this very product

I am soon to experience a Sisley facial that I have heard so many great things about and shall review with my findings in the coming weeks…

VISITING THE GIAMBATTISTA VALLI ATELIER IN PARIS

GBV.FW12

Today I shall be travelling to Giambttista Valli’s Atelier in Paris to select the most important dress I shall ever have to consider

Through a series of unbelievably fortunate events, this afternoon I am being welcomed into the world of Giambattista Valli to be fitted for my wedding dress, working with the designers to select the most incredible archive piece in which I shall walk down the aisle on March 20th

Images (many I am sure) to follow…

BRIT AWARDS – DATE NIGHT

Brits1

– Wearing a backless leather Chloe dress –

It so happened that a friend invited the Swede and I to the Brit Awards last night – far too much fun to miss and the perfect opportunity to wear this backless leather Chloe dress for only the second time since I bought it (this piece I shall not care how many times I am seen in, it’s just so divine!)

The evening started with the awards, stopped for a quiet and entirely romantic supper at The Delaunay and then continued at the Vanity Fair after party at The Savoy. The Delaunay is never my first choice for supper due to the German dining options, but the food is nevertheless delicious and the room warm, elegant and comforting

– The Delaunay –

I wish we could have stayed to watch Chic perform with Nile Rodgers, but alas, babysitter obligations saw the Swede and I arrive home at one minute to midnight (it was still completely wonderful to be out as such events with the man I shall marry next month though…)

CARA DELEVINGNE X LA PERLA PARTY

LaPerla1

It used to be the way when I started out in fashion (10 years ago, gosh!) that I would attend parties, be somewhat impressed with the hosts, get a little tipsy and then end up in a beautiful hotel bar with fashion friends until the early hours drinking cocktails…

…now I attend parties, look at the actual collections, miss seeing the hosts entirely and then leave to either attend a quiet and civilized dinner, or in the case of this Tuesday, head off to teach my spinning class at Lomax in London’s Chelsea neighbourhood

While at the striking new La Perla store for the Cara Delevigne hosted party this week, I was rather taken aback by the exquisite underwear; I had forgotten just how beautifully made the pieces were and with such fine lace in most cases

This particular piece was of course very much in mind for potential wedding purchases…

TOM FORD – WITHOUT DOUBT THE HIGHLIGHT OF LONDON FASHION WEEK

image[1]

There is always one highlight of any fashion week, whether it’s Paris, London, New York or Milan, one show will make you feel more alive and inspired than any other; that show for me is undoubtedly Tom Ford

image[2]

No matter which city I am in over any show month, my levels of anticipation reach their peak with this unreasonably talented man. Each season he never disappoints, regardless of whether I fall completely in love with each look, as Tom’s touch and the way in which his presentations are so flawless makes up an entire package for an overall collection

Now it’s just the small matter of finances allowing for me to purchase more than just one key piece from this AW collection…

LONDON FASHION WEEK + SPECIAL GUEST

LFW.1

As the Swede has been away skiing this week (yes, over Valentine’s Day, pah) and is not returning home until Sunday, I chose today to be my first day of London Fashion Week

emilia

With my little love as my special guest today, I shall not be attending all shows as I ordinarily would, but have chosen the ones I know I wouldn’t be able to live without seeing, such as Emilia Wickstead…if I were not getting married in a somewhat lighter hue, then this would have been the look

MY NEW FAVOURITE PASTIME

wed.1.

With less than six weeks until my wedding day, I do know which designer I shall be wearing, but not the exact style – all will become clear next Friday when I travel to Paris to meet the iconic designer himself

wed.2.

Until next Friday, I still have the opportunity to try dresses of every possible design and if you think trying wedding dresses as a pastime is ridiculous, then you haven’t spent (many) afternoons slipping in and out of utter fantasy creations. Trust me, it’s addictive…

The featured dresses are available to buy at BROWNS BRIDE
